Hi all
I have been trying to motivate myself not to spend money on unnecessary items so was so happy to find this great thread - I will be taking out my ten pound note out of the cash point tomorrow ready for the week and I look forward to reading how you all get on.
Instead of going to the pub tonight i invited some friends over and we watched a movie - I only spent 99p on a large packet of crisps
Keep up the good work everyone

Welcome Debty Betty (wow, what a great name!!!).

Off to work soon and then home to do my wonderful (not!) ironing, so a NSD for me again ...... hope also that OH is too hungover to want to go and spend any money either :rotfl: :rotfl:When you were born, you were crying and everyone around was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying! :rotfl:0 -

Welcome to you and Betty. Be sure to check in with us regularly, with your tips about how not to spend the magical £10 or for some support.
I went out last night and blew it!!!!
I lent the boyfriend money. I know I know I shouldnt have, but he was adamant I'll get it when I see him tomorrow when his student loan comes in. I felt bad because I did go on about how he needed to sort out his spending habits, and he did say the whole thing embarasses him. He didnt spend loads and I did get a bit annoyed as to why we had to do rounds with people?
Or is that just be being really stingy?!
It did cheer him up loads so I dont regret lending him the money providing I do get it, and the rest that he owes me tomorrow else my cash flow goes to a very unhappy place!OH!!!
Remember your mum reads the threads, Queen Mum is blushing!!!

Hey all.
Planned to go to the local last night cos there was a ceilidh on. knew it would blow my budget but i dont go out at all so thought it would be a welcomed change. Me and my friend decided to walk there since it was such a nice night (about a 30 minute walk) and since the night was so beautiful we kept walking past the local and went for a huge walk down the the beach. so i didnt spent any money and have no hangover today! :j
No plans to spend today, already taken the dog to the beach who is now drying off outside in the sun.
Hope everyone has a good day!0 -
I haven't been around for a few days because my computer decided to give up on me. It had to be taken away and repaired. It cost me £100 but is back up and running. A lot cheaper than a new one. I was naughty and had a cd rewriter added as we didn't have one for an extra £20. Total was £100 though. I'm not sure if any of that can be included when we fill in tax return as DH is self employed and computer is meant to be for his invoices, orders, accounts etc. Thats a different thread I know, but I am trying to convince myself that I didn't spend unneccesarily but all our money is joint accounts so there's no use trying to say it was DHs expense. Sorry I couldn't control myself!business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Been into work for an hour so MOS could have a break, some lunch and a conversation lol.
Went into wilko and got some bits for flat, I've been meaning to get them for ages but always forgot! So now my kitchen is complete with a bin lol...
PoorBear- consider it this way, the computer and the internet are in fact necessary to you on this challenge, so theres a bit of a get out clause...
Day one of weekly shop/meal planning. I'm attempting to roast a chicken for the first time ever, a whole one, as big as my head...........
*deep breaths*Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
oohh good luck with cooking the roast caf! you having all the trimmings with it? i need supervision to that else i'd probably poison people!
i did make a good curry today if i do say so myself!0 -
Thanks for the help with dealing with my guilt for spending so much. You are right I couldn't do this without my computer. Best of luck with the roast chicken. My first attempt was a disaster had to finish it off in the microwave while everyone waited at the table to eat. Then it was rock hard because I overcooked it! My poor husband thought that because he had married an HE teacher I would be able to cook meals.:rotfl: Years of practice and many disasters later I can honestly say I can cook now.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527
