    Well, for a kick-off, I can't decide whether what you want ideas for is;

A website for Communities which is New, or
    A website for New Communities.

    ??
  • Are you for real?
  • As a web developer does it really matter ?
if your developing a community site should work with all new communities content!

the real question is why are you developing a community ?

Thats a very vague question, doesn't help much.

Maybe design web community for web developers to discuss what next to develop?
Better to understand a little than to misunderstand a lot.
  • Hi, For example a Forum is a Community.

I am looking for Forum Ideas if that explains it a bit more.

Forums prefer a premise of open and free discussion and often adopt de facto standards. Most common topics on forums include questions, comparisons, polls of opinion as well as debates. It is not uncommon for nonsense or unsocial behavior to sprout as people lose temper, especially if the topic is controversial. Poor understanding of differences in values of the participants is a common problem on forums. Because replies to a topic are often worded aimed at someone's point of view, discussion will usually go slightly off into several directions as people question each other's validity, sources and so on. Circular discussion and ambiguity in replies can extend for several tens of posts of a thread eventually ending when everyone gives up or attention spans waver and a more interesting subject takes over. It is not uncommon for debate to end in ad hominem attacks.

So..... you want us to give you an 'idea' for a new internet forum, presumably one that isn't covered by existing forums such as this... for what reason?

So that you can set it up and monetise it? If that's the case, and there's potential for money to be made, I'd set it up myself and make the money for me, rather than you. Why would I give you the idea? Are you going to pay me for it?

Or is there something else you're looking for?

No give the Op a chance if it's going to be a Community thing perhaps the intention isn't to make money.
If i were you i'd surf as many forums as i could and see what are the popular threads now can you blend them into your community.
Go to the top of the page here, right hand side. Click Forum and spend the next few days reading the history. what threads get the most interest. Obviously it's not worth asking the same questions but it will start a brain storming session.

In what way can you Monetize a Forum apart from Adverts would not be on there as I hate them. Can you explain how to "Monetize" it?

    Thank you Sam.
