Tesco 0% credit card

Hi,

I don't need a credit card or never needed to use one and still don't need to use one, but took advantage of this because the 0% rate.

So therefore getting charged interest on money lent is not my aim.

It says make sure payment is made in time say about 2 to 3 days before it's due so it's paid in time or fees get charged.

This is what I'm seeing on my credit card account:

Payment Due Date 13 Nov 2012
Minimum Payment Due £0.00

So what happens now, I've had the credit card for about 3 weeks, it says I have nothing due, but have spent just over £600 on the card in them 3 weeks. So if I don't pay anything by 13 Nov 2012, does that mean they will charge me interest on the £600 or not?

Does £0 due mean that next month I have to pay a percentage of the £600 and not this month?

Not sure here, please let me know urgent as I only have 4 days till 13th.

Thanks.

From what you've posted I'd say you have nothing to pay.

I also have a tesco credit card it's confusing to say the least when it comes to bill dates etc. Even after you've made the payment it still shows as requiring a payment.

If you have a 0% card then you won't be paying any interest.

Personally, I always manually pay the minimum amount (normally 2-3% of balance) a few days before the first due date, whether it says £0 due or not. Then I know for sure I won't lose the 0% for missing a payment.

Make sure you set up a direct debit for minimum amount as well.

I had the same thing: Min payment due £0 on first statement. If you look online (View Transactions) there will be no transactions associated with this statement. Your next statement will contain the £600 of transactions and the minimum payment will have a value

£25 will be the min next month
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.
  • best way is to set up a direct debit for the min payment each month, you can then make additional manual payments if you wish, remember if you make a late payment then the 0% deal could be cancelled
