Claiming child tax credit for self-employed

Probably being really thick, i get confused with this every year. Just done my husbands tax returns and i know the tax credit office will be asking for yearly profits, do i give them the amount before i've deducted his expenses or the amount after deducting expenses.:confused:

Oh brilliant, so what about the personnal allowance, amount before that or after you've deducted the personnal allowance.

You declare the full taxable income. Tax credits always looks at Gross Taxable income rather than net income.
I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.

I always thought it was the net profits. But don't know a lot about self employment. Just checked the website and it is net profits.
