The kitten's eyes were definitely open. She was poking her head out from the blanket she was wrapped in and looking around. So tiny though.

I'll call the RSPCA in the morning for some advice.

I personally can't do anything and could get into a huge amount of trouble if I tried to steal the kitten.

as another poster says - the kitten will probably be pushed outdoors soon (if it survives that long), and if you spot it - then could you take it straight to the vets as a 'stray'? or contact CPL?

Poor little thing - stories like this make me so maddd!!!!!!!!!

In a perfect world this would provide a solution.

But there were some feral kittens behind a neighbour's shed a while back and I had to move heaven and earth to get them to safety.

Despite explaining to the many rescues that the poor things were skin and bone and struggling to survive, none of them wanted to know.

Had it not been for one wonderful lady running a cat rescue, they'd have starved to death out there.

Sadly it's almost impossible to get help for a stray kitten.
  • This makes my blood boil, NO the kitten should be with its mum and the owner of the cat reported to the RSPCA
Royal canin have a kitten feeding kit with kitten milk and a small feeding bottle in,which the kitten will suckle from,
Sometimes vets have these,or you can buy them online for about £9-99.They are very good i have used one in the past
I wish i knew who that woman was that has these kittens Grrr

I found a kitten at about 5-6 weeksand with the vets help - I had a long lecture from her vet until he realised I had FOUND her! tried to wean her. at 8- 9 weeks Poor Smoky seemed to be doing ok, until I checked on her and she was obviously unwell - rushed her to the vets and later that day was told to fetch a carrier and a hot water bottle she could come home, sadly, twenty minutes later I had a phone call to say that she had died. reason unknown. Its a very risky business to try to raise kittens who are separated from the mother too early. I was so upset and so were the kids, we had worked hard with little Smoky and really thought that we were going to raise her to adulthood.

I think that is the best idea. Then you know you have done all you can,it is up to them. They don't always get a good press but you can only try.It really is disgusting what some people will do.Most areas will do very cheap neutering so there is no excuse at all for not getting it done and this kitten and all the others would have been saved a probably miserable existence and death. Not to mention the mother cat.

RSPCA were unable to be of any assistance.
  • Typical, but that woman should be reported, but then again if the RSPCA wont help with the kitten----?
I hope the poor little thing survives, our branch of the rspca are very good, might depend on where you live, did they offer any advice at all?
So sorry for the other kittens that are left ,

Did they say WHY they couldn't help? Did they seem to think it perfectly acceptable that this little scrap was taken away from it's mother so early?

Sometimes it is easy to see whay they get a bad press, though most of the time they DO do a good job.

Try the CPL ? If they can they may be able to help the other kittens and the mum if she hasn't already got shot of them all.

Not that I've had that much to do with RSPCA but why couldn't they help? , or do they say too busy.
Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.
