Best place to buy quality leather sofas?

I am looking for the best price for some quality leather sofas. Can anyone recommend a particular retailer? I will not be looking for finance so I am reluctant to go to the stores that offer "interest free credit" as I feel as if I will be paying for something I don't need!

Thanks for any advice...........

What appears to be good and/or cheap may not be a few years down the line, or even a few months.

It is difficult to find something that really lasts. Have a GOOD look at the warranty.

I bought a Ravenna sofa last year from http://www.premiumsofas.co.uk/ . I've been very happy with it and the quality was far better than anything in a shop for the same money.

Bought ours from a company called Saxon, which is one of a number in, mostly, the North West, Lancs, etc. They, and the others, specialise in chesterfield type sofas and chairs, but have many other styles also. Quality is in a different league to High Street retailers, delivery all over the country, and customer service is charmingly personal and very efficient. Before parting with my hard-earned, I would trawl round a few web sites, and request a few catalogues from these companies. I firmly believe in supporting these industries, which are hopefully not a dying breed, because the quality and service puts the big retailers to shame, and don't forget, they actually make it for you, it doesn't come out of a Chinese container.
I also bought a captains chair from Roy Hollingsworth, give them a look also. It was the delivery drivers son who actually made it, and Dad was very proud of his work. Generally prices are competitive also.

I recently bought a 2+3 seater leather suite from FV and its very nice quality.
Also their delivery was fast and very helpful customer service.
I bought from their shop in Rusilip.

  • Avoid dfs at all costs......I used to work for Next home and their sofas where excellant quality and their after sales service was excellant(well it was if i dealt with you!) Periodically they reduce they dispaly models by half. You can give the store a call and ask if they get any to give you a call . Obviously sold as seen and you have to transport it home yourself although we often kept numbers of local delivery men to pass on. HTH Sharron

We went in there to get a sofa for a flat we let out, and found a really nice one (was tempted to get a couple for ourselves too!).

Then the salesman said it'd be 16 weeks for delivery, on any of them! 4 months!

So we went to Ikea, bought one there and then, and they delivered it the next day (a Sunday as well!).

I thought Sofa Sofa were very good quality for the money - they only have 2 showrooms, but they do sometimes do shows in other parts of the country - we went to have a look at their stuff at a show in london. They will send you catalogues and samples of the material in the post too. We ended up getting our sofa from Homebase, it's only 6 weeks old so still waiting to see if it takes wear and tear, but happy so far!
