in Credit cards
Hi
After years of doing 0% balance transfers and getting accepted each time, We have been refused a card ,yikes
Now could this be because we don't cancel the old card when the balance is re-transferred.
We never hear of these old cards now, so assume we are off their systems
Any help
Thanks

Just because you don't hear from them doesn't mean the account is closed. Check your credit report to jog your memory as to which companies you have historic accounts with, then give them a call to close the accounts.0

Guess who you have directed me to a site which is creditreportsmatter.co.uk.. Now i have just found on mse that they charge you £19 when in fact it says it is free.
Can anyone tell me if this is right. I have signed up for the free trial, but is it really free. Added i have received 2 emails already to my email asking do i want a loan from some american company.0 -
Just get your £2 statutory report from Experian (Experian were probably the CRA they used). Could just be the old problem when you switch from one BT deal to another that your total credit limit available has to go up temporarily to accomodate the old and new cards. This might make you a higher risk.
Closing an old account may help the situation but only apply again once your credit report is up to date and showing the account as settled.0
