Oooh! The Graphite Grey one is very nice, thank you!

And thanks for the heads up on the Acer battery life, that's a real deal breaker for me, ideally 5 hours minimum!

Went into PC World yesterday, and tried this out - have to say, without you posting it I probably wouldn't have given it a chance since the screen is quite small, but I think it's perfect for my mum!

Have found a 14" that can be imported from America too, so very, very, very tempted by that! No SSD but still felt nippy.

Cannot decide between the 11.6" from PC World, or the 14" from America - argh! Anyone have experience of using both an 11" and 14"?

I won't suggest you get machine from USA expect you go there and it directly as there could be import tax.

Thanks, to be honest I was allowing for import tax at 20% and it wouldnt'; be a killer, but still quite risky - just trying to find the i3 version of the 11" one now :)

I've been looking for a couple of weeks, closest I've found is this
Just trying to work out what the differences are....??
Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the end

Just checked on web. HMV online have i5 14" and i3 11.6".
Where would your mum usually use the laptop? At home? On train/ plane?
Unless she always use it on the move, I would suggest get 14"

Thanks, I was tempted by those but they're out of stock, with no clue as to whether they're coming back in stock again :( Will be used almost exclusively at home btw

Can anyone shed any light on how this differs from the Asus 11.6" i3 one at PCWorld please?
I think I'm being blind, but I've looked at so many now that I can't see the wood for the trees anymore :o

You mean the £599 Asus S200E-C158H?
No sure if tesco got the spec right. VivoBook S200E don't have Optical drive.
