Will the bank do a credit check? I'm thinking not but I wanted to check as I want to open two savings accounts.

They will verify your address, sometimes against the credit files, sometimes against the electoral register, or both. It's not a full credit check (to which you would have to give your permission, anyway), and no other company will be able to see that this address check was made.

Its pot luck and not consistent. Sometimes they will ask for paperwork, sometimes they dont, and if they do, they want different bits of paper sent. Its an utter mess. What bank is it?

As far as LEEDS BS goes, they ask for ID when i try to take money out! So avoid them if you dont like hassle.

I've just been looking at a regular saver account with Market Harborough BS. Their terms and conditions state they will use CRA's
