Cat munching clothes

Okay he's not eating them as such just chews cloth a lot.
Was told it is because he was taken from his Mum before he was weaned (only 4/5 weeks old and the women whose cat had the litter was going to drown him if we didn't take him) we drip fed him milk then mashed food etc until he was ready for normal food.
I'll admit I babied him to bits (we were on corned beef and he was on fresh prawns )
Just wondering if he will ever grow out of mouthing cloth? He is 4 now so not too optomistic but hoping for some help/advice.

Hi zaxdog - no advice unfortunately but couldn't read and run. My cat is 6 and does exactly the same. Similarly to your cat, we think he was around 5/6 weeks when we took him in (stray/feral). I am also guilty of babying him as a kitten, he was always very independent and didn't like being stroked or picked up, then one day just switched completely and would quite happily let me carry him around all day long. As soon as he comes near me he will start kneading and sucking/dribbling on my clothes. He is actually called Munch as well so perhaps we only have ourselves to blame!Barclaycard [STRIKE]£7,296.35[/STRIKE] £6134.99 - MBNA [STRIKE]£4,182.88[/STRIKE] £3267.08 - O/draft [STRIKE]£569.31[/STRIKE] £413.59 - Capital One [STRIKE]£1477.55[/STRIKE] £1451.44Total debt [STRIKE]£12048.54[/STRIKE] £11267.10 6% paid0
