Offer Dilema

I have submitted 3 claims for three seperate accounts with Barclays Bank.
The total of my claim including interest is for £7763.34.
I have received two letters from Barclays. The first one refers to one of my accounts and states that they are unwilling to make any offer at all.
The other letter refers to my other two accounts combined and is making an offer of £2020 in full and final settelment.
The claims that i have made for these two accounts totals £3677.67 including interest.
This is confusing as i can't understand how they refuse one claim and make offers on others.
What do i do?
I want to continue with my claims and my next step is to take them to court.
If i do this will i damage the offer that has been made?
If i continue would i get a settelement on all three accounts for the full amount or at least a better offer?
What is the average time scale from applying to the court and actualy getting to court?
This process has been going on for 5 weeks already so i am not in any desperate rush to accept anything just yet.
Any help to my questions would be great.
Thanks

Claim on, what you have been offered is less than a third of your total claim.
Your court fees may be higher to lodge the claim (since it is over 5 grand) but you're almost guaranteed to get it all back if you do take it to court. Check out CAG (Consumer Action Group) and follow the guidelines there in order to be sure that you are doing this right. Just means waiting for another 4-8 weeks thats all.“Lies run sprints, but the truth runs marathons. The truth will win this marathon in court.”

Accept what they have offered you but make it clear that is a part payment of the total amount owed to you and that you will continue to claim the rest.
You decide when you are going to court (I would write to them saying you have accepted their part payment and they should pay the rest within 14 days or you will start court action). Stick to your deadlines - you call the shots here! It is unlikely that you will actually go to court - most banks will stall and delay but then settle up just before the court date looms.I am a Travel Agent My company’s ATOL/ABTA numbers are E7760/3970. Hi
Just thought I'd jump in on this one as I have completed the MCOL against Barclays for £702.30 including interest and court fee, their time is up on 23rd April and then I can enter the judgement (I'm sure they'll defend though, as looking through the site they tend to at the eleventh hour).
Yesterday I received a letter from Barclays offering to pay £410 towards the total amount I am seeking - realistically I would accept £630 which is the charges plus court fee (no interest).
I was thinking of ringing them to put this to them. Has anyone else tried this and succeeded? If they don't budge, I guess I'll just progress with the court procedure.
Any advice would be appreciated.0 -
Is it worth me phoning them before i commit to going to court?
If i do go to court can i claim back the court fees?0 -
It's worth a go. If they don't budge take them to court where you are entitled to claim back the court charges anyway.
Keep to your timetable though if they can't give you an answer when you call as they could be delaying; that's my advice.0 -
Furter to me entry yesterday i have spoken to Barclays and they have addmited that it was their mistake to make an offer on only two of my three claims and refuse any help on the other.
NOW WHAT!
I am trying to hold off as long as i can before going to court as it is going to cost me about £300 to submit the claims. Total claimed £7763.34.
The offer so far is £2020.
The guy on the phone today has said that the claim that was refused will be looked at again and if i decline the offer of £2020 i will have to do so in wrighting before they would think of making any other offer of settelment.
Are they just playing me for a fool?
Should i bite the bullit and file at court?
Should i wait for the offer on the other account and write to them refusing their initial offer on the two accounts.
I would settle for 80% of my total claim before going to court if this was made available to me.
Should i write and let them know that 80% is enough?
Please help.
Ta Much.

Hi
Personally I think they are just delaying and you should stick to your guns, don't forget if you do take them to court, and win, you would get all your money back plus court charges.
However, if it makes you feel better, write a letter saying you are NOT accepting their initial offer, but would accept £x (80%) and give them say 10 days to reply, if they haven't done so by a specific date, you'll be filing a claim on MCOL.
If you don't get any joy from your letter, you won't really have any option but to file a claim, but at least you would have tried.

I am currently claiming £763.92 plus £80 court cost from RBS. They have just sent me a offer of £539.00 to be paid direct into my bank account. The bank account was closed 3 years ago. I would like to accept the £539.00 as a part payment.
Has anyone got a template letter that I can copy, as I don't want to !!!! up my claim at this late stage. I would also like them to send me a cheque is this possible.
I have issued a court claim and the 28 days are up on the 26th April.
Please help
