Lost Parcel in France

A friend sent a poorly addressed parcel using parcelforce which has not arrived and is probably in France. Yesterday she opened an email in her spam folder which was written in French. While I was looking over her shoulder trying to translate it she deleted it thinking it was spam. No way of retrieving it. The first line had parcel and courier in it and was probably about this lost parcel. Does anyone know who to contact in France about this?. Is there a single company which parcelforce use in France?. Thanks

Does she have the PF tracking number?
How do you know it was 'poorly' addressed? Seems odd to send something in that fashion.0 -
Only tracked in the UK. It is odd to send something in that fashion.0

Just re read your post, has she tried looking in her 'deleted items' folder. Usually anything you delete goes in there.....0

Emails deleted from her AOL spam folder are not recoverable. Thanks for the links. I'll pass them on. If I had listened more at school I would be able to read them. I've contacted Parcelforce but the response time is 16 working hours which may be Monday.0

As it was sent via Parcelfarce, sorry, Parcelforce, your contract is with them and they are responsible for it's delivery to the end user. If it goes astray, then they have to rectify the problem by whatever means. The fact they may use a sub contractor is not your problem.
If you must send something abroad, then always try to use a carrier that relies less on subbies, like FedEx or UPS etc etc, as it is tracked wholly using their system (I used to work for FedEx.) and that is the problem with Parcelforce as you have found out. It may cost slightly more, but it's a price worth paying.
Try going via a reseller like P2G, as the price is marginally cheaper than going direct to the carrier, and you still get the tracking service. But make sure it's adequately insured in case of loss.

In this instance the inaccurate address is the problem. I suspect it is in a french lost post office waiting for a reply to an deleted email. If any Fluent French speakers can direct me to the contact us button on this site it would be appreciated. http://www.laposte.fr/Particulier0
