:rotfl:Sorry but that did make me chuckle .... as only another Tortie owner would get!:D
loulou I agree with the others, if her coat is long & not tangled & she's not that fussed about food, she must be being looked after by someone.
She may well have been out on fireworks night & just wanted to get into the nearest possible safe place (esp if she's comfortable around your area) rather than having to make it all the way home if she was scared.
I'd try the paper collar too - also, depending on where you live (city, village etc) if you've a local post office / shop, you could try putting a notice up - there's a lady here who has a notice up asking people not to feed her cat .... apparently it's out most of the time (happier that way) and people keep thinking it's a stray and feeding it so it doesn't go home for days ......Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
2016 Sell: £125/£250
£1,000 Emergency Fund Challenge #78 £3.96 / £1,000Vet Fund: £410.93 / £1,000
Debt free & determined to stay that way!0 -
Thank you all again. Think I just felt like I should do "something" as the last stray around here, was being looked after by a neighbour - she fed it every day let it come and go into her house etc, it was happy living like this and you'd see it in several of the neighbours houses looking out the window, but unfortunately it got ran over right outside my flat...hate to think of that happening again.
I live in a town, but might ask in the local shop if I can put a sign up if the paper collar doesn't work.0 -
Definitely paper collar and check for a microchip.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

Don't forget that longhaired cats are very resilient to cold.
My Tortie MC is immune to everything, other than snowdrifts - once she sank into one of them, she refused to go into the garden until the white stuff disappeared, but she insisted on spending all day sitting on the doorstep outside glaring at it.
If the cat will let you touch it, you can still tell if they're underweight by touching either side of their hips, as it still feels bony like a shorthaired cat's spine/hips there, even if the rest of the animal feels rather sheeplike. And, whilst the top layer may look lovely, you may find the undercoat is matted into dreadlocks, especially round the side of the neck and to the back legs.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll
