We have a number of sticky threads and I wondered if we needed to unpin any of them and replace them at all? Sticky threads should really cover the important things on the board, including rules .
So for instance we have the spoof email thread:
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/602815
which I am not sure serves any purpose as most of us can spot a spoof at a mile away, whilst people who do fall for them don't read the thread anyway as it is not particularly current.
The HMRC one is possibly out of date, but I would need to ask the team about removing that one:
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3872743
has anyone got a view about the car boot sale one, does it serve a purpose any more or should we start a fresh one with new places when the next summer season starts?
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/527459
the forum rule one must stay as it is an MSE one:
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3106190
I think the postage one is useful as threads often refer people to it:
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3146680
This one is useful but very out of date and needs some real work and perhaps the addition of a big warning about the paypal on collection issue?
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/598590
I would also propsoe sticking the expanded seller dashboard thread , or at least putting it in any revised ebay FAQ thread with a link to the thread.
any thoughts?

I think the seller dashboard one needs to stay, but I think someone needs to write something that is a good 'dos and don'ts' for maintaining customer satisfaction (there are people who can write good neutral posts better than I can), and not allow it to get out of hand where (banned) sellers are simply complaining about eBay/their buyers/Paypal being unfair. This makes it less like an autopsy and more like a genuine attempt to help some failing sellers.
Of the above, I'd say the spoof email thread could go and replacing the car boot sale sticky is a good idea. Could the HMRC thread be replaced with a thread about business registration in general?"Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4
