Yes, I noticed that, but it doesn't appear to 'stick' though. If you print a second time with another app you have to manually set it again.
last time i set up a printer i set the economy mode through start-printers and faxes-(right click on printer)-preferences, and this set the default position across all applications (i.e. you'd only have to go to printer preferences in an individual program to switch the economy mode OFF)...
that was on an HP, however, rather than a samsung.
given how cheap and easy it is to refill, i wish i'd bought a samsung too. oh well.0 -

yup thats how I did it too:)
There are refills for the HP although the first time you need to melt a hole in the cartidge
Lastly, what about the green bit on the cartidge? There is no automatic sliding cover on the samsung compared to the HP, should we try to keep it away from sunlight when refilling the samsung?0 -
Just a quick post to say how pleased I am with this printer!
Compared to my failing Brother HL-1240 (grey prints - needing a new drum really), it's excellent.
So much faster and clearer.
Top bargain!0 -

Any recommendations for toner refills? Have heard that not all toners work with different printers so don't want to mess up my printer!0

Yes, I can recommend these guys Topinks
Toner powder is good quality and they have top service."He's a maniac, maniac that's for sure,
He will kill your cat and nail him to the door"
