Does anyone know anything about a dodgy outfit called national parking control?

We know to ignore them like any other private parking company!

    :D

  • Why, what have they done? Obviously you have no reason to be "worried" unless you are personally affiliated to the company you name... then you can worry a lot as we correctly advise people to ignore you!

But something tells me you're not one of the rogues! So, let's hear the scenario...!

Yes we've heard of this particular bunch of scammers, they love to use terms of authority on their website, and they should not be paid
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

They also have a page about 'ethics & the law' which will make the regulars on this forum laugh and rush to report them to the DVLA:

    http://www.nationalparkingcontrol.co.uk/ethics.asp

''When obtaining the keeper’s registration details for an illegally parked vehicle in order to enforce parking penalties, NPC strictly adheres to the DVLA’s Code of Conduct.''

    :rotfl:

Oh, and the 'FAQs' page is even better but I won't quote it to tip them off about their errors in wording and liability!

I see you have probably gone to bed to sleep on it but here's some light reading about them for the morning:

    http://lmgtfy.com/?q=+site%3Aforums.moneysavingexpert.com+national+parking+control+ignore

...let the search load itself and read about what letters to ignore from these chancers, and their debt collectors.

You should also email a complaint about your ticket (with a copy of both sides of it) to the DVLA and point out that the company pretends on their website that they can issue 'fixed penalties' for 'illegal parking' (they cannot and it is not illegal) and that they can 'pursue the registered keeper if the PCN is unpaid' (errrr...nothing about naming the driver?).

If you complain you may be able to stop the DVLA from giving out your data to a firm with two separate, serious breaches like this on their website. And what about their signs and tickets then what are they like?

Could you show us a copy of both sides of that fake parking ticket please? Just cover your vehicle reg number and the PCN number and location. We have not got a copy of their latest 'tickets' for this thread yet:

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2214803

Can you show us a pic of the sign wording if you are local too? Bet there are more breaches of the BPA Code. They also use some of the worst threatograms I think, issued by Daniels Silverman - should be worth a look when those letters arrive (if the DVLA do give the firm your address even after you emailing to tell them about all these breaches).

Obviously don't respond to the letters if they do get your address. It's all a well-known scam.

I have complained about this company to the BPA, both about their website and the use of the word "penalty" on their signs in the car park owned by The Original Factory Shop in Sleaford.

I have had an acknowledgement and a "case number" from the BPA. I shall await the outcome.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?

That's good to know as a start, especially if the BPA do nothing as usual.

Even better if the DVLA then take it seriously!

It would be great if this OP has got a ticket and can quickly complain about the ticket/threatograms/website and signage - with more photo evidence - to the DVLA, on top of your existing complaint to the BPA.
