Apparently Amazon don't understand this themselves. This same thing happened to me yesterday, and I couldn't understand what had happened. I contacted Amazon on their online chat, and ended up having an argument with them. They didn't know why it was not showing the lower price, even though I had followed the 'rules'. After escalating it to a manager, they agreed to 'make a one-time exception' and give it to me for the reduced price; they had to put it in my basket themselves as I couldn't do it.

Thanks for the explanation. I'll know for next time. Too bad Amazon can't figure it out!
