It would do the same functions, but if he has his heart set on an ipod I'd be wary of buying a different brand without checking first!

It would be similar to an iPod touch as another poster has pointed out it's just an MP3 player and not a phone as I originally thought.

However as the poster above me has pointed out if they want an iPod they probably wont be happy with this as it's not an iPod, although it does do a lot of the same stuff

THanks for the answers letting it go because son said he wants an ipod not a samsung, it is easy to get carried away because that is a lot cheaper than the ipod but not what he wants thanks for the replies:D
