Heating/Water Dial control not working (Potterton Mini-Minder)

DH and I have a potterton Mini-minder on our heating/water system.
For some reason the dial now appears to have stopped working (its either getting stuck and not turning round or its going round too slowly -i'm not sure which - I can turn it round myself no problem, but it doesn't do it by itself which its supposed to)

Any ideas why this might be?
We have our CH insured under our british gas boiler policy but obviously don't want to call out/claim unless we have to
(n.b. the water/heating works fine if I use the manual override, we just can't seem to use the timer function)

Hi.
You will need a new programmer. The mechanical clock will have given up.

why bother claiming on the insurance it may put your prems up if you go with CH suggestion then it's the same back plate (the bit with the wires in it) & you just swop the bit with the clock on which is usually just two screws underneath lift up at the bottom & it will come off then fit the new one (don't forget to turn the power off to you heating first)I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0
