What's the best MasterCard for...

I certainly wouldn't cancel on the say so of someone who seems to have joined solely to rubbish a particular card. Given that the Santander 123 card is in the MSE Best Buy list I'd say carry on with it, but be careful to check how it's working once you have it (it is Santander after all).

I actually wanted to say something about r.m too, after I read the previous comment he made on the AMEX card...0

I have both of these cards but got the latter more recently. The 123 only pays 1% on supermarket diesel, not the 3% headline rate they advertise. Cheapest fuel near me is Morrisons and I get a reward card payback too.
Fuel is my biggest regular expense so I feel that the Amazon card is likely to be the better payback.
Has anyone worked out the sums for this?
Thanks.0 -

This is incorrect - it should pay 3% on supermarket fuel.0 -
Here's an extract from my online transactions:
CARD PAYMENT TO WM MORRISON PETROL,78.34 GBP, RATE 1.00/GBP ON 25-07-2013
So that's as clear as clear can be. You only get 1% when you get supermarket fuel. I read it somewhere in the small print on their website too. And who now expects banks to be open and straightforward anyway?
So my question still stands, am I better off using the Amazon card to get points towards a voucher?0 -
How is that proof?0

Looks to me more like an exchange rate! What does it say for other lines on your credit card statement?0

As james says, that is the exchange rate. I don't have a 123 credit card, but I have the 123 current account - card payments are all displayed this way.
Cashback is also displayed incredibly clearly at the end of the statement period, I assume the credit card is similar -
1 Direct Debit Payment for Water at 1,00% Cashback
1 Direct Debit Payment for Gas & Elect. at 2,00% Cashback
1 Direct Debit Payment for Council at 1,00% Cashback
3 Direct Debit Payments for Comms at 3,00% Cashback
Even if it was the rate of cashback, since the Amazon card offers 1% back in vouchers, you'd be no better, or worse, off.0
