Safe to ignore of course, see the letter chains thread (5th from top) for comparing your letters to when they arrive. Just keep them all but don't reply and don't panic about debt collector letters. Compare any debt collector letter to the old letters in the letter chains thread because your letters will be there. Almost all letter-chains are already shown under one PPC or other in that sticky thread's links.

All the usual letter-chains are perfectly ignorable in the absence of real, sealed Court papers which will never arrive, only the usual threats.

Tell your friends & family only to take seriously a real parking ticket from Police, Council, TFL or (rarely) a real penalty from a Train Operating Company. That's it in a nutshell, no private firm can fine anyone. More proof needed by some friends & family?

Watchdog clip (pre-October so it talks about 'driver liability only' but ignore that bit) with expert Solicitor's opinion here.

Barrister's opinion - read the answer at the bottom, it's very clear! - here.

So simply choose to ignore and laugh at the scammer and their attempt to extort money. It's like deleting obvious phishing emails from your 'Bank'; it's a very similar con based on impersonation of authority. Just play snap with each letter against the letter chains sticky thread each time, then after a few months the scam fizzles out - simple!
