in Credit cards
Hi
I recently applied for a balance transfer card and was surprised to be turned down, since I hold other cards and have not incurred any fines / late payments recently. Then I realised that this may be due to the fact I had moved house recently, and had failed to update my name on the voters roll.
I have now updated my name on the voters roll, but am wondering whether I ought to wait a while before applying for another credit card - I heard that undergoing multiple checks over a short period can be bad for your credit rating.
any advice would be appreciated

You need to check your credit files first, once you display on the electoral roll with the CRA's at your new address try again.0

If you haven't already, call your local council and find out when they publish the updated register (this is usually the main delay). The CRAs will show a few weeks after that happens0

maybe best to wait 6 months also. 1 failed application and a move/electoral roll change may put some lenders off for a while.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
