Do I need a special plug socket? I have always had gas cookers but fancied a change!!
Theres a plug socket behind my cooker but it just looks like a normal plug same as any other, So do I need a different plug put in??

By 'Plug' I assume you mean 'SOCKET' - ie the bit where you plug a plug into.
Only certain cookers can be plugged in so make sure your one can, otherwise it'll need 'Hard-wiring' and a 30a supply.
A lot, but not all, of single ovens, nowadays, can be plugged in using a 13a Fused plug. As a rule, double ovens draw a higher current.
If in doubt, call a leccy."Unhappiness is not knowing what we want, and killing ourselves to get it."Post Count: 4,111 Thanked 3,111 Times in 1,111 Posts (Actual figures as they once were))Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.0 -

I was really surprised that our new oven just plugged into a normal 3 pin socket. If you buy one that doesn't need to be wired in then it will be easy (and legal!) for you to do it yourself.0

No.
Just get a single oven (Cheaper) and ask the shop asst if it's suitable.
Wickes do a nice Stainless Steel Oven, Hob & Extracter for about £210.00.
