Finding a house - auctions etc

Hello

I look at rightmove and zoopla every day, and I am not finding anything that meets my specific criteria. I also go onto estate agent sites.

Are there any other ways for searching for houses, is there an online auction site or does anyone have any other ideas of where to search to check for houses?

thanks:j

Have you tried private selling sites such as mypropertyforsale? When I've looked they haven't had a huge amount on - but you never know, could be the perfect house there. Also, if you know a specific area you want to buy in, its worth putting up some notices outlining what you are looking for. Friends of mine did that in our village - one in the post office notice board and also something in the parish magazine, and got told about the perfect house before it had even gone on the market. (I'm sure I've seen Kirsty and Phil do that too!!)
