Northface outlet stores

Hello,
I wanted to buy a new Northface jacket to go walking in the winter and was wondering if anyone had used one of the outlet stores online? I wasn't sure if some of these websites sell fake clothing because some of the prices seem too cheap! e.g. £45 for coat + fleece.

Thanks
Matt

A lot of these 'outlet stores' for high-end branded goods are scams selling counterfeit products. If it's www.northfaceukonline.co.uk that you've seen, I would be 99.99% sure it's not legitimate as it's hosted on a shared web-hosting service.

thanks for the reply, i thought this might be the case. How do you find out if its a shared web hosting service?

One way is to put the web address in here:
    www.yougetsignal.com/tools/web-sites-on-web-server/
and see what other sites are on that server.

I don't doubt that it is fake, but assuming that it is illegitimate based on the fact is uses shared web hosting is a bit of a leap. Thousands of legitimate companies from one man operations up to large organisations use shared web hosting.

My main concern about the website is the lack of contact details. All they have is an email address. No telephone number and no fixed postal address, not even the typically worrying PO box. That's a company that doesn't plan on responding to you when you try to get your money back.

The domain itself is registered to a Clinton Hitchcock who apparently resides in Texas, USA, but who knows for sure.

I too have been after a North Face jacket and found lots of dodgy sites purporting to sell legitimate NF goods. The most obvious sign I found apart from the too cheap prices, was the websites were often written in bad English.
GoOutdoors have some cheap NF gear at the moment, but most of it is instore only, and it depends on stock availability.

If you are not set on NF, then Cotton Traders do some decent jackets at sensible prices.
  • I bought my last set of north face gear from www.blacks.co.uk, usually have a decent selection in store and on their website.

I have also bought stuff from http://www.nevisport.com/ they were quite quick with delivery if memory serves me correct.
