Ohhh NOOOO

After I have had my lightbulb moment and took my head from up my bum/the gorund where ever it may b. CAB cant offer me an appointment until 7th December. Its a whole month away. I have asked if I can attend sooner if there are any cancellation.

I have just hit the lowest I have felt in ages exposing my head from this sand thing feels rather pertrifying!

Might be worth phoning other local CABs in case another has a sooner appointment, I've done that very successfully in the past.

Have you tried contacting CCCS? Ive always found them really helpfull and kind, they have often given me a boost on a bad day.
  • I went onto CCCS's website or step change debt charity as they are now called.I started filling out their debt remedy plan. Their recomendations for my outgoings are no where near either what I think I can live off or the ones I have previously put on my SoA on here and feel if i was to try and life like that for 3 years so i could pay an IPA I would be struggling. Or maybe they will think I am being frivilous with my money and that really I could struggle by and not need to go Bankrupt.

I may struggle with finding another CAB as I am connected to the armed forces the British Legion work along side the CAB office where I am going and I am really hoping that they may help me with the fees.

  • I advised a client recently who applied to the http://www.soldierscharity.org/need-our-help/who-is-eligible for help with bankruptcy fees

Give them a try and let us know how you get on x

Wandered back to your SOA on here, it is a "real world" one and very similar to mine that the OR accepted, the CCCS ones are a bit "conservative" put on your SOA for BR what you pay out, have evidence of this and an explanation of any figures, some things are not allowed, ie saving for presents so you need to be able to "rob peter to pay paul" with other things on your SOA, ie cut your own hair to buy a present! BR is a time to focus on what is important in life and budgeting often for the first time in life..:)
every time I manage to get one more breath into this body, I will sing a song of thanks to you my brothers, my sisters, my friends, may your sleep be peaceful, and angels sing sweetly in your ears.

syoyo, don't feel guilty about the BL help. They paid my fees too and I've never served in any forces. I too gained their support due to my xh's previous service though he'd left by the age of 20. I'm so grateful for their help, and the linked childrens charity has support my dd who has disabilities through her education too. I would never be able to thank them enough but the money is there to be used and to help people.

Going back to CCCS, out of interest I did their online calculator thing just to see if BR was what they would recommend, despite already having done it and what they were saying I should live on there is no way I could. I assumed that was because I use ready prepared foods very often when my depression is bad and they are dear, a good chunk of my DLA gets used that way but the calculator refuses to adjust for things like that. But sounds like the system isn't generous then!
