And a timely reminder I think as we come to the close of this particular thread of the forum rule about exchanging personal details. I'm not daft, what goes on between two individuals via pm or e-mail is up to them, we are all grown ups, and there have been many very wonderful RL meet-ups.

The majority of people who post are genuine and honest, but there are quite a few who are not and whose intentions are murky to say the least - it is that latter group that I certainly would not want under any circumstances to have my address. So just a reminder to think twice about giving your personal details to a stranger - the rule is in place for a very good reason, not just to be a party-pooper

"The safety of our forum users is paramount and for this reason we can't allow anyone to exchange their personal details either on the open forum or via PM, however honourable the intention.
This means we don't allow selling/trading/exchanging/swapping or giving as gifts, nor links to your ebay auctions, or other forms of advertising."

I have been up since 8am as I expected the chap to come around 8.30 to lay the flooring in the wetroom, but he didn't arrive until 11am  so just been getting a few jobs done and doing some washing while I waited. He is getting on well now though as has done all the preperation, putting the actual flooring down now :j

I forgot to say, that when my sis was down visiting last week, she told me that Mam had been in hospital overnight during the previous week. They hadn't told me at the time as it wasn't too serious. Her chest had been bad but on Tuesday evening she'd been vomiting so they admitted her to local hospital for observation. However, she was ok the next day, and obs were fine, so they were happy to discharge her back to the home. She has been really good in the normal part of the care home since she was moved there, much brighter and aware of what's going on. She was also fine with being taken in the ambulance, etc, and told one of the nurses the next day that 'I've been in hospital you know, but I'm alright now', bless her. My sis says I will see a massive difference in her when I go up at Christmas :j

    Hi Susan
Great news that mam is getting on nicely now bless her. I know it could have been confusing for her but didn't she do well. At least she returned to the home in good spirits and happy to tell the nurses next day about it all. :A
I'm not planning a trip home this side of christmas but may do after New Year.
Oh, how I miss the geordie sights and sounds, the older I get the more I feel I want to go back and put my roots down where they truely belong :D
You are doing well too Susan, well done sweetheart, and enjoy your next trip home too. x
There's no place like home :)

Feeling down? Weak in body? Makes no difference to me, I think of you all when I'm sitting quietly.

Hugs and healing thoughts are always going your way.

I just wanted to say - thank you for the timely reminder. I would, of course, recommend everyone uses a separate email (of which I'm sure people have many to fill all the vouchers/offers. facebooks etc) to contact someone for information (whatever that may be).

In this way, I do not see any harm in sharing information.

Sending someone your address is another matter and I was clearly joking. I guess humour is lost in the written word at times

regarding the tesco pp voucher. i have one here but there's nothing on it that relates to the receipt. does this mean i dont need the receipt anymore? because how does the s/a possibly verify it and make a connection between the two? the older ones had the time and store details on.
maybe i'll ask the s/a when they process it.

Some ask for it, some don't. There is no real way (other than to check your comparison when it comes back) to tell which goes with which. HO have given conflicting news on this. Some say it is being fixed, some say it's because the barcodes are all single time scan now and some want to staple any receipt to the thing.

I've had the "discussion" several times in store. I find it safer now just to have the receipt with it and let them do as they please. It is one time use after all. I do appreciate some don't want their details floating about though.
