I didnt realise I had so many S&G I tried them and didn't like them a friend came round saw my 87 in a stacker box and gave me £25 for them :) Happy days

wow. I like mine far too much to sell them. Not fussed on the smell just like looking at them all neatly lined up in my stash cupboard.

(you know you all do it to so don't give me that look OH gives me :D)
  • Good evening

Have not made it out to the shops today, sadly no drivers volunteered.

We have however got a new arrival on the way a cockapoo he's a puppy, he's lovely however our other dog isn't that keen at the moment, so we will see when he arrives tomorrow.

Off to catch up now, if I don't fall asleep my new tablets are fab.

    See you later

Hello celebrate. What a horrible experience you had in Argos earlier! This is one occasion where you really must use your doctor title, as it should only add to the respect you should get as a customer. They are very much in the wrong, as the watch was clearly not fit for purpose, so if you quietly persist I am sure you will get a full refund. I am confident you will succeed when you complain.:)
I am not young enough to know everything.

    Afternoon all
Completely lost my mojo after been reduced to tears in Argos of all places
Bought DS a watch/ stopwatch set for his bday, within a week the stopwatch has broken buttons are stuck completely frozen and paint has chipped off the watch which I wasn't that concerned about
    Decided to return
SA asks a manager they inspect the watch and say he has worn it out and too scratched to give a refund, they will exchange the stopwatch
Ask twice to spk with the manager, kept waiting half hour and he won't show. Ask politely 3rd time for him to give me the courtesy of showing his face
So he comes and says the same argument. Offer exchange of stopwatch ( which I don't want because it is do tacky it will be broken again in another week!) and refuse to take back the watch
I know t&cs say they have to offer to repair then replace then refund but by golly I have been stood at the tills when items have been refunded no questions asked without receipts !

Anyway had couple unopened items to return as well
Asked for watch back while I speak with HO
SA first interrogates me on why I want to refund unopened items, then spends 20minutes inspecting them ( fair enough but they were sealed) then gives me the 3rd degree on whether my Debit card is mine or not!!!! Put card in pin machine. Then she asks me to sign s receipt, then she tells met signature doesn't match the card so she can't give me a refund only a gift card!!!!!!
Never have I with chip and pin been asked for a signature for a comparison with my card. I really hadn't got the will to explain I have 2 signatures ( my short prescription signing one of long normal one, had I known she would be scrutinising my signature I would have not scribbled my fed up short one!)

Any advice before I ring HO appreciated
    Thanks
    And no laughing!!!!!

I am having a bit of a battle with Argos at the moment and will probably end up with TS/Ad agency. Last weekend they had a 3 for 2 offer on all toys, cheapest free. The only t&c's/exclusions that were on their website were - subject to availability and that the offer was in store only. Got my shops into the best deals for myself and reserved them online in orders of 3 per order. One order was not available from the same shop as the rest. I included the 2 for £15/£20 toys and one other in each reservation.

At the first store where I collected the majority of the reservations, the 2 for £15/£20 discount didn't kick in. After talking with the manager, he overrode the till to the correct price, apologising profusely. At the second store, the same thing happened but the manager wouldn't override it. I advised her that there were no t&c's/exclusions on their website. She produced a print off of a communication from HO saying that two offers couldn't be used together. I told her that that was irrelivent as customers should be able to see clearly from the website what was and was not included and would not be privy to HO to store communications. I politely insisted that she phone HO CS. I showed her the items that I had reserved on their website and it stated that there was 2 special offers with the product - 1 buy 2 for £20 (saving 9.98) and buy three and pay for two, the cheapest being free.

HO CS agreed with the store. I got each persos' details. Paid the wrong price and left the store, advising the manager that I would take it up with HO/TS etc.

When I got home, I took screenshots of the relevent pages including their toy leading page where under the 3 for 2 banner, it was listed 2 for £15/£20. I emailed CS.

My reply was that the T&C's are printed on page 1749 in their catalogue!! I have replied to them, including the snapshots, website T&C's and exclusions (availability), advised them that as their website advises customers to reserve on line it should also state that customers should read the T&C's in their catalogue before ordering goods. They haven't replied yet. They will get another email from me if they do not respond in 7 days. After that period, if I don't get a response then I will contact TS.

    Good Luck

Sorry if already posted as quickly skimming through, but think your TPP will only be around £2.50 and not £10 as only the first 10 will compare?

well update is :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: at argos

CS rung the store who said they suspect the watch (which is not the faulty item) is more than the 2 weeks old after inspection, What the??:eek::eek::eek::eek:

Had a polite rant at CS, firstly it isn't I have proof of purchase, further to accuse me of this is even worse than my original. Secondly even if it theoretically was older the items are covered by a warranty for a year so my statutory rights are still not affected. I am still entitled to a refund.

CS was confused to say the least, she added "store said they usually cross check signatures with Debit cards" after previously telling me herself it wasn't policy. She seemed to be totally dictated to by the store and incapable of making her own decision, complete opposite experience of Tesco Cs who override and deal with their staff and training issues.

after 4 phone calls to the store (each one after me making valid counter arguments to the bull she was coming out with) I advised her she obviously couldn't help at all and I didn't need a go between to retell me what the store had already decided. Told her I would write in. 20 minutes later she phoned up to say she should have just offered me a giftcard for the refund of the original amount but the complaint would still hold.:(:(

I accepted but in retrospect wouldn't have, just worried I am stuck with a broken stopwatch.

    shoddy customer service:(
