Thanks, for the new thread Fudge-Cake! :j
I was browsing the spices in Mr T's yesterday and saw this:
Don't like the sound of it myself! _pale_
(Sorry to lower the tone!)"I expect to pass through this world but once. Any good, therefore, that I can do or any kindness I can show to any fellow creature, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it for I shall not pass this way again."

Hey everyone, not been around for a while but caught up on new thread this morning. Big hugs to Logie and Tigerwhite xxx
Spiralling Down think it's great that you are doing boxes for soldiers:T My OH says anything that makes rations or bascis they get like rice taste better is good. I used to send him those prepacked sausages is it Mathesons?? And spices and herbs. With regard to socks they have to wear issued ones when they are on duty or they won't be covered if they get sore feet so prob just sport socks for when they are at camp.
Shelly Bee well done on your win!!! Mulberry Bayswater's are about £795 now!! I've had one for years and got staff discount, such a classic I love it:D0 -

These can either be the longer type sports socks or the trainer liner type. They will be grateful with whatever they recieve and they can swap amongst each other for whatever they prefer.
Can I just say :T to you for doing this. I can vouch for how really grateful soldiers are to recieve these boxes, it gives them a huge boost to get some treats. And the stuff you've put in is perfect. I have done loads of these myself this year (20), we had a great time packing them up:)
I do this every year - and I also collect toiletries all year round including toothpaste & brushes, shower gel, pens, note pads and chocolate:eek: and take it to a local drop off office to be packed and transported to our girls & boys. It is packed into huge crates - I have seen them for myself - and flown over to Afganhistan etc.
I have had letters back from some of them that have made me cry - for whatever reason some of them don't receive a christmas present from anyone and its not much but makes such a difference to know that they are thought from peeps back home.
It really shouldn't be this way but that is a matter for the powers that be.0 -
