Quick question peeps,
DS is doing shoe boxes for soldiers, one of the items is 'sports socks' are these the trainer socks or the ones like the 4p walking socks?
We're making a few and whilest I don't mind how much I fit in I don't want to spend an absolute fortune on each one
I'm making use of the APG fillers for these as my brother in law says these sweets (minus the choc) go down well, he loves the tantastics and flumps! I think most of his box will contain a variety of sweets this time, along with nice coffee.
I'm putting in the oralb toothpaste and a toothbrush in each, a selection of hot and coffee sachets, oxo cubes, mints and other sweets, curry powder and even marmite  in some. I'm trying to make each one a bit different so at leat they're will be someting they'll like? Just to go out today and get a few more different bits and pieces then they'll be ready for tomorrow when they're being picked up :T
Any socks will do. They wear thick socks under their boots and normal sports socks with trainers when off duty. These can either be the longer type sports socks or the trainer liner type. They will be grateful with whatever they recieve and they can swap amongst each other for whatever they prefer.
Can I just say :T to you for doing this. I can vouch for how really grateful soldiers are to recieve these boxes, it gives them a huge boost to get some treats. And the stuff you've put in is perfect. I have done loads of these myself this year (20), we had a great time packing them up:)0 -
I wish I could turn my family - they have no sense in saving at all !
None of them - they are impressed with what I get but won't do it themselves - now I feel:o when giving them pressie cos they are probably thinking it cost me next to nothing - which is not ALWAYS the case:o
Good for you and your mum - and hopefully your aunty !:T
My brother is still like this, give him an online glitch and he's off but if he has to go into a shop forget about it  again like you I find they're happy to take but not happy to participate.
It took me a long time to get my mum into it but the big cleaning glitch sorted that out :T. She was also able to save the company she cleans for a few pounds on just the normal prices even without the APG back so they were happy with the 6 bags of products for £25 that she got them. She said they'd usually spend that on a few items and that the boss was very happy with herSPC #329 £471/£500 banked

I have a well off relative like this , I offered to do her a list , drive her there and even print her apg but she wanted to buy my shampoos etc for 32p , now she is after my chocs and said I didn't need all the KC vouchers
I am quite happy to help anyone , my daughters always go home with a bag full but this person is taking the proverbial I think.0 -

I've just done that on mine. hope it doesn't play up.
If COT is around, what is the Samsung tablet you mentioned? My OH is on about getting an iPad, but I know COT rates Samsung tablets and there was one going fairly cheap which I'm wondering about buying DH for
Crimbo.
It's only a 7" tab but it doesn't get to 3200 degrees on hukd for nothing

Seems to be lots of savings, by using Amex card or getting pc world to price match so make sure you read a few pages, mostly the later pages I think.0
