No this is horrible. If you've done nothing wrong.. which I'm sure you haven't.. I'd take it up with head office. Mention what you've told us tonight. Why do they do this? Its awful! And what a coincidence that you happened to be walking past at that moment!?

Probably but I'm no lawyer

As I see it there will be signs up saying "images are being captured" etc but not sure the various reasons they might give. I think all stores have to have these signs and provide a contact number for queries so maybe have a look for that sign and see what it says

And it's likely up to the store manager whether they refuse service to individuals so passing your photo around for that reason might be allowable

But being described the way you were and loudly enough that you (and possibly others) heard it is obviously embarrassing/unjustified/slanderous/etc if you want to take it up with HO
