HIP fiasco turning into a burglars dream!

Energy inspectors poking about in every room in your home, compiling the Home Information Packs won't be checked for criminal records!

Instead, they'll have to be 'honest' in admitting a criminal record as long as your arm.
Who will be mad enough to let these snoops in and thereby ensure every scally & ned in the local pub receives a pick-list of the desirable goodies in your house, where the car keys are kept, plus a nice diagram of how the alarm system is connected.
The fine for ignoring the HIP is only £200, quite attractive when the alternative is returning home to find the chav's traditional excrement 'calling card' on the middle of your duvet.
'New' Labour - the burglar's friend! (Well, most of the cabinet are criminals - what do you expect)

Typical newspaper. That was known weeks if not months ago. Also, the journalist obviously missed the !!!!!! / perv angle for the story, must try harder next time.A house isn't a home without a cat.
Those are my principles. If you don't like them, I have others.
I have writer's block - I can't begin to tell you about it.
You told me again you preferred handsome men but for me you would make an exception.
It's a recession when your neighbour loses his job; it's a depression when you lose yours.0 -
Does anybody know whether surveyors have needed to be CRB checked for the last umpteen years?
If not, I can't really see the difference between the old system and the new one as far as a "burglar's charter" is concerned.
Anybody had any experience of their stuff being nicked by the surveyor?0 -

Here's one to look out for though!
My aunty got a taxi to the local airport a few years ago but forgot her passport. She returned home immediately and found the cabbie in her bedroom. And I believe cabbies ARE checked.0 -
