I'm looking to take out a new policy & am wondering if i've understood this right as i don't want to be paying more than i have to.

"Hire Car Cover Unless you have a Comprehensive policy and your car is repairable, then you won't get a courtesy car. But you can upgrade with Hire Car Cover, to keep you on the road if your car is written off or is stolen"

The hire car is £29.95.

Now the way i read this is if i take out a fully comp policy, then i get a hire car anyway (or access to one) & if i take out TPFT/TP then i'd need to pay the £29.95, whereas on the fully comp i wouldn't need to pay the additional charge.


Or am i wrong & you need to pay £29.95 regardless?

Don't want to pay if i don't have to, but don't want to be short & only find out when it's too late.

The Hire Car cover is an addon to provide a hire car if your car is written off or stolen.

Mines the same as above if its in for repair i get a car. If its written off etc then no car.
But if thats the case i would just go and buy another one anyway.

No, if the car is repairable and your comprehensive you will get a courtesy car.

You can upgrade to add Hire Car cover which will provide a hire car instead of a courtesy car even if your car is unrepairable/ stolen not recovered
