Looking into Betterware for extra cash...

  • Last time I looked at a Betterware catalogue, everything was ridiculously overpriced, and much of it was very similar to Poundland merchandise, only much more expensive.
My SIL got fed up of returning Betterware catalogues with a note requesting that no more be delivered, but every time, the next Betterware catalogue would come through the door. When she finally binned one, the irate rep demanded that she should retrieve it from her bin and give it back!
I once received a catalogue containing rude drawings (presumably added by a previous customer).
I did try Avon once, yonks ago. I was allocated one working class street with only about 50 occupied houses. I was also told that, while I would get free catalogues and full commission for my first outing, if I wanted future catalogues to distribute I had to buy them, and if I got less than £40 of orders (which I barely managed the first time) I would get no commission, so I could end up working for Avon but paying them for the privilege! Needless to say, I declined.
At least I had a laugh: one lady refused a catalogue on the grounds that she was allegic to all Avon products. I mentioned that the catalogue wasn't just full of cosmetics and jewellery but also included other items such as handbags and cuddly toys, and she insisted she was allergic to them all!
