I did Kleeneze a couple of years ago and I HATED it.
It was too much like very hard for very little return-slgging your guts out dropping heavy catalogues off, people chucking them in the bin, nightmare.
(But make you own mind up!)
I have been doing Virgin Vie for 8 years and I love that, so I guess you just have to find something you like...

My friend did this a while back when her kids were small.
Did it in the end for about 3 years and it worked well for her.
She built up regular rounds and had regular customers.
Worked a coule of nights and one afternoon at weekend.
Think she got 20% of sales.

Half my family have tried this!! It seems an honourable company but!
On average you get about £1 order for every catalogue you deliver and a small percentage of that is your pay. You won't make any significant money by delivering books. It's a type of pyramid where you have to recruit "downliners" to deliver books and you get a small cut of theirs. When they recruit people and their recruits recruit people, you might start to see some money. I don't know anyone who has made a success of it. I think the business model relies on lots of people trying it for a short time and selling to their friends and then give up. If enough people do that then somebody a long way up the chain might make a little cash. You hear lots of millionaire stories but these are very few!!
Personally I do hold much store by these types of businesses but of course you should do your own research.
Best wishes

Hi, I've been doing betterware now since just before xmas. I started it for a few reasons: To get more exercise (defininely works!) To earn a little money whilst kids are at school/nursery and finally as something to do. Now. The exercise it definately keeps you fit and it is useful if you have one child at school and one at nursery as you can fit it into those hours but for the work the money is not very good at all. If I was doing it just for the money, I wouldn't bother. HTHProud to have dealt with my debts. Nerd number 288:j Debt free date Dec 07 :EasterBun

I tried about a month ago but to be honest moneywise not much use. You get 20% on sales delivering around 200 houses and collecting a few days after - but people didn't leave them outside so have to post a reminder and go out again following day - Delivery and Collecting took me and my 3year old around 5 hours in total plus to have to put your details on to order form and put them in with the catalogue. In total I earned £8.60 so as we are desperate for money at the moment it was much use as I can earn more than this doing a hours over time at work.
To sum it up I say great if you just want something to keep you busy (children can help aswell) but not good if you are doing it for cash.
Maybe I didn't give it time but to be honest I need a solution to £ problems and couldn't afford to waste the time doing this0 -
Hi,
Me and my bf did this for extra cash, and to be honest, it kept our heads above water for about 6 months, but it is hard work!!! There's a lot of running about involved, better to do it in the summer than the winter. Sometimes we were coming back like drowned rats!!!
Have you tried being an Ann Summers party organiser. I't great for people with kids, it's flexible. It's run by great women who understand what it's like to need money and it's great fun, there are loads of incentives depending on how far you wan to go with it.

I did Betterware a few years ago and have to agree it's hard work. We did it evenings after working a full day and it just go too much. As others have said we were chasing our tails for books etc and not really too much to show for it. I used an old delivery bag for delivering the books and one day overbalanced in a garden as it was so heavy and fell in a load of prickly bushes. I landed with the bag on top of me and then couldn't get up partly cos I was laughing so much and partly cos I couldn't get the bag off me  By all means give it a try but don't expect to make a million.ITV Winners Club #87 :eek:0

I do Kleeneze and I love it, have been doing it for 2 years now and have my 'round' established, so that cuts down on a lot of the going back time and again for catalogues, I have about 450 customers and work on a 5 week cycle, which they all seem happy with.
My kids help out, heck they even have their own customers! in fact I sent them out yesterday delivering the catalogues for me while I got on with my tax return.
Some months I don't make much, some months they seem to be falling over themselves to order (this week my order total was over £300), my cats go out on Fri/Sat to be picked up on Monday, order goes in Tues, comes either Thurs or Fri, and goes out to the customers Frid evening.
I do it all by foot, so it keeps me fit, can get a bit of a pain if its chucking it down, but hey, I soon dry off, and my oh has invested in some waterproofs for me (and they are hi vis so no flippin driver has any excuse!)
Thing to remember is that they are businesses and as such you can't expect to make a fortune straight away, they need nurturing and building up just like any other business.
Happy to answer any KZ questions if anyone has any0 -
How about doing mobile waxing? I have never done it myself but I have had it done to me. I have lip chin and legs done and it costs me £27.00. There does not seem to me to be much in the way of start up costs. You would probably have to do a short course and off you go. You could do the hours to suit yourself too.
I do NOT KNOW how you would go about it you would have to do some research, but it may help someone.
Another idea is dog walking - if you like dogs that is. I live in South Devon and there is a local chap doing this and he seems to do well. I think he walks the dogs for elderly people and people at work. Fresh air and excercise and getting paid for it.
If you really like dogs you could do a dog grooming course or have a Pooch-mobile we have a Pooch-mobile here and that lady always seems to be busy, she baths and de-fleas and dries the dogs all inside her trailer.
One more idea washing out wheelie bins. Wouldn't fancy that one though.
Hope that has helped to inspire someone.
