Why not move back in when hes out at work?
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..
  • thanks for all you replys. I am currently renting a property with new partner so do not really want to move back in to old house but could certainly threaten to do so. The noisy sex may !!!! him off lol. I asked if i could get a mortgage but woas told that it would be very expensive as few lenders would touch me.
BUY TO LEt mortgages - i could look in to this but if my earnings are not enough to get the mortgage what can i do? The mortgage is 155k and house valued at 200k i know it will not sell for 200k though. he is being very unreasonable and i think he would refuse me to buy him out.

You don't need any earnings to get a buy to let mortgage. The rental income pays the mortgage.
    :footie:
:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p
  • also i spoke to a solicitor who advised me that if he is being unreasonable then i was to stop making mortgage payments i asked if i would be penalised for this and he said the worst my ex could do was take me to court to claim the money back but as he said this wouldnt be worth his while as it was costly. If it was to go to court then i would argue my case and say it is not reasonable for me to pay half the mortgage when ex is not being reasonable with me
  • HAPPY MJ thanks very much is there any specific lender who is best to speak to? Would i be able to include any money to pay the ex off mabe between 10 and 20k?

It is much much more difficult to get a buy to let mortgage now - you would need a significant deposit and lenders will chase proof that you do not intend to live in the property yourself.

If you want to check this option out, go see an IFA.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

Any lender will do. A mortgage broker would be best. You may only be able to borrow a maximum percentage of the property such as 80% but you could borrow more. Most lenders insist the rent covers 125% of the mortgage payment.

From where I am sitting your ex has it good, a cheap mortgage for which you are paying half and a house all to himself. You have to keep paying or you will stuff your own credit rating and he probably knows that. So it needs to stop being so cushy.

You might not want to move back in, but if you play it clever it will be a lot more fun for you than for your ex - treat it like a game. You know what pushes his buttons, maybe he hates the smell of curry or fish so eat that every night. Most men hate the idea of you having better nookie more often with a new guy so do this :rotfl: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FZluzt3H6tk
Record and watch TV programmes he hates or support his rival football team. Cuddle up and snog on the sofa, have long candlelit baths together. He can either sell or move out and start paying the mortgage on the house YOU live in just like you paid his.

The House Buying, Renting & Selling Board is an extremely helpful place - they might be able to offer further advice.

If you left him for your current partner, this would be a pretty sh!tty course of action regardless of the financial issue.

If he ended it, go right ahead.
