  • Hi
Why not look for a grey dress which could be used for work afterwards? This would compliment your hood and would look really smart .Just one tip don't have your skirt to short we recently went to my sons graduation and the number of young ladies that were hauling there skirts down as the walked across the stage towards Professor Lord Robert Winston just made them look uncomfortable. Congratulations on your graduation

Whatever you wear, take safety pins, plural. The hoods are heavy as many folk have said and they need anchoring. My hood had a fur edging (fortunately fake) and weighed a ton, it was pinned through my blouse onto my bra, also to my blouse and my blouse was pinned into my skirt then anchored there by a belt. An extra pin at the shoulder seams helped as well! The best combination for the men seemed to include a close fitting waistcoat and I was rather thinking that womans' robes were designed for the days when we wore corsets or boned long line bras, sigh. So if you do buy a dress, something with a tight fitting bodice section might help?

  • I wore a dress for my graduation, but I opted for one that had was pulled and tied up at the back below the bust. I had no problems with it hitching up as a result. But, I had such terrible flu that day (the worst I've ever had), I was so full of anti flu treatments and caked in makeup so I didnt look like the walking dead that it was the least of my worries!
  • Black little dress will do.
