have just been given a laptop from my sister,it was her 6 year old daughters,but she cant remember the login for it,its not been used for about 1 year,is there anyway i can get this to work?

its the windows login,her password hint was cute,its not got the guest sign in option0

Have you asked her about the password hint, in case that helps?
But as suggested - just factory-restore it. (Should be a boot option, if you keep pressing F8 as it starts up).0 -
