If you use Firefox you can change it in the configuration settings.
I was using this but then changed back as it was preventing certain competitions from submitting correctly (such as RockFM, Wave).
I'll post it up in case you want it anyway. It hides the referral link so websites don't know you've come from MSE.- Type about:config in the address bar and press enter.
- Search for network.http.sendRefererHeader
- Edit the integer value from 2 to 0. Press OK

for chrome users, you could use this addon referer control. It lets you customise referer information sent, so for example i have set it to just send google as the referer for any links i click from mse.
