Any recommendations for a good, slim, smart case?
Have seen them advertised as sleep/standby case (with magnets?), how does that work?
Don't want anything industrial it is for my daughter. She saw a silicone skin, in purple, but it didn't look as though it would protect the screen, or much else.

I have one of these ones http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0096RYN92/ref=noref?ie=UTF8&psc=1&s=electronics
seems pretty sturdy so far and you can use it a couple of ways to prop the thing up if it's on the desk or whatever - not sure about slim tho!!This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Didn't know nexus had magnetic sleep mode. Surprised apple hasn't tried to sue them then.
Device has a sensor built in, so when a weak magnet is placed over it send it to sleep mode.Mansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0 -

I didn't like it at first but I'm getting used to it. I got it specifically because it can be used in portrait mode, but it doesn't seem very stable that way round.Didn't know nexus had magnetic sleep mode. Surprised apple hasn't tried to sue them then.

On the left edge, about an inch from the bottom, is a magnetic sensor - try rubbing a magnet up and down the edge and the screen should go on and off - Youtube vid here
Some cases have a magnet built in this area so that when the screen's covered, the device goes into standby rather than the screen being on and wasting the battery0 -
On a related note, I'm looking forward to getting some NFS tags to play with so that when I put mine on the dash mount in the car it starts car related apps and so on.
That's when I get a nexus, I returned mine so am now waiting for the 32gb+3G version release on the 13th.0
