Underlay for slabs to stop weeds etc

I'm laying new slabs. I need an underlay to stop weeds etc from growing through it. What's it called please? any recommendations?

If you do a google search on "weed proof membrane" you'll find lots of different types.
I haven't posted a link to any as there's loads and you may want to have a look at the different types / makes
