Honest John

Found this on pepipoo http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/faq/private-parking-penalties/

E prize to the first to read ALL of it. Its a bit war and peace.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

  • Its approximately correct, but you can nit pick at it. The problem is its far too long for most people to wade through.

And he's still going on about sending PPCs £10 "in full and final settlement".
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?

    This bit is dreadfully misleading:

''There will no longer be any ‘get out’. Vehicle keepers sent private parking charge notices will be legally liable either to identify the driver responsible or to make the payment.''

...or to ignore the whole scam... :p
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

phew. I'm glad I'm not the only one to think 'what the heck is HJ playing at?' when week after week he doesn't tell punters in his columns the truth about PPCs.
He seems to skirt around the issue of these companies tactics and never just comes out and states 'ignore' to the 2 or 3 questions asked weekly regarding them and their 'threat-o-grams'.

Otherwise I always read his pages avidly & have a lot of respect for him.
I rather suspect he's been leant on by the editorial department of the 'torygraph' as I am quite sure he'd say something definitive if he could: as he does with everything else!
Unless specifically stated all posts by me are my own considered opinion.
