Also if you've been bankrupt or have defaulted and check on Experian's site these will not be seen as a negative neither and if you have any of these on your credit report but made payments on time for the last 2 years then Experian will give an excellent score.

Let's just hope one day James jones realises that their scoring system should really pick up defaulted or bankruptcy accounts as a negative.

    Spot on Bugsy.
Your right.... some of the time ;-)

I have both of those on my credit file, yet have a score above 900.

    It's ridiculous.

I seem to remember their credit matching service suggesting sub prime cards, so at least that bit picks them up. I don't think it's actually their bit though...

And conversely my score is about 500 yet I have no problems getting credit at the moment (4 new accepted applications over 3 months this year).

I used to think this score was valuable but having read about people's experience and seen how my score doesn't reflect the reality, I've changed my mind. It's a waste of money

James jones of credit ripoff this poster has a score of 900+ with a bankruptcy & default is there anyway you can be so kind and explain this.

To all other posters James jones of Experian will not reply to this as he knows his computer scoring system is completely FLAWED...
