Jimmy Doherty / Tesco Chicken Kievs

Earlier this year Jimmy Doherty had a programme on Channel 4 where he managed to persuade Tesco to produce low price Free Range Chicken Kievs. For more details see

among many other articles about it.

I've been buying them over the last few months, and (as everyone seemed to agree on the programme) they were much nicer than their existing cheap range.

But I've just visited the local (large) Tesco branch today and they have disappeared from the shelves. I asked about them at customer services but they hadn't a clue what I was on about and couldn't find them on their system.

It's looking like they have been axed  but they are still listed on their home shopping site

Has anyone seen them recently in their own branch?

I have just checked and they are available for delivery from my local store, so looks like your store has stopped selling them

Thanks (unless they'll just replace them with something "equivalent"). I'll fill in a customer complaint form, but I'm probably wasting my time.

Unfortunately a lot of people are so used to eating cr4p, they wouldn't recognise a decent product if it slapped them in the face (supermarket own-brand frozen pizzas spring to mind).

So your Tescos may have found they just weren't selling well enough there.
