Your very welcome ohforpennies as I say I dont often post on here but saw your post and remember being in your shoes 6 years ago and just wanted to send some virtual support (I can't believe how quick that time has gone!) I remember my court day very well, the staff were actually nice and helpful and when I went into the room it was just me and a female judge who was actually nice, as I say the process may of changed now but when I did mine I went to the court paid the money to go BR, swore an oath on the bible and then went down to the room with the judge which lasted two minutes I had to confirm my name date of birth etc and then she asked me if i wanted her to make the order and that was pretty much it then went and saw the OR and again they were nice and just went through everything and that was it really, I was there about 2 hours though so might be worth eating before you go, I hope yours goes smoothly and is straightforward, can imagine you must be nervous but as others have said its not as bad as you think it will be, trust me once it is done and you wake up every morning without the worry of what the day will bring, can I afford to eat today, what is the postman going to bring etc you will feel a million times better and start again without that lead weight on your shoulders, please dont feel embarrassed about going BR, you have been trying for the past 8 years to repay your debts so you cannot be faulted for trying, now you can look forward to a debt free, worry free future, best of luck to you :)
