Do you have the DN from the initial and correctly applied default ?

If so, include a copy of this, highlighting the date and yr, within your complaint correspondence. (what we're trying to do is confirm the yr the account went into default, which will obv be somewhat diff to that registered with the CRAs), and should confirm that the default is actually spent.

    Hope this helps

  • I just wanted to say a big thankyou.

I took all your advice , thankfully the compliance manager at Welcome could see that all the information was incorrect & have removed the default!
    VICTORY :-)
I called the financial ombudsman who advised me that afte reviewing the case it was also her intention they should remove it.
So after all the months of being spoken down to by welcome, being called a liar and brought to tears by the constant stream of knocks from them , I have finally got through to someone who has listened.
Thanks again for your support and advice. I am still waiting for the letter with the final settlement, but my credit file i now clear.
