  • Did you fix it?

    Amp connects to tv
Blu ray and TiVo to the amp
Check that the tv is on the hdmi channel.

The lg home cinema system is in effect your amp. Try setting up as stated above and see if it works.

I have my Sky box ext connected to my Samsung TV via HDMI & an optical cable going FROM my TV optical out to the optical in on my surround sound.
I found that was the best way & it might work better for you.

Sorry to hijack this thread a bit, but I have sound and picture OK on my LG plasma TV and the Panasonic DVD player works as well. I am getting the sound through my Sony surround system, but not full surround sound when I use the DVD player. I have not used an HDMI lead anywhere in the setup, is this what I am missing?

andygb, you don't need an HDMI lead for Dolby Digital or DTS surround sound. You need HDMI, Optical, or Coaxial Digital. What are you currently using to get sound from your DVD player to your Sony surround system? If you can do HDMI, do that, if not, you may simply need to add on an optical cable.
  • Sorry to butt in but for optical leads, I'd get on ebay, not supermarkets as they'll be a lot cheaper :-) in fact, I've probably got a spare around here somewhere...
