Has anyone had a look at Abundance Generation?
Does anyone have any feedback on investing through Abundance?
I've got some savings I'm looking to put into something, and I've been looking into Abundance. They let you invest directly into renewable energy projects in the UK and get a return of 5-9% IRR.
Their website is abundancegeneration.com if anyone wants to take a look and has any feedback for me that would be great?
Has anyone invested? What are your thoughts?
Thanks in advance.

I had a look a while ago but being unable to put debentures in an ISA is a big negative for me.0

The web site doesn't work without javascript and/or flash, and no way am I enabling those on some random site I know nothing about.I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.

I decided to put a fairly (IMHO anyway) small amount of money into this a while back. It looks legit to me, though I very much view it as a high risk investment so I would only put a small proportion of your savings into this (diversity is key so security.) As for not being in an ISA, as far as I understand it this isn't a problem, at least if you're taxed at basic rate or below. Take a look at [edit can't post links so go to the website as you listed, then how it works > FAQs > Tax for more on this]0

I have had a good look at these guys, have not invested yet, but certainly think they are legit, they are regulated by the FSA and are on the register...
ISA i think you can only put listed securities in that wrapper? The Debentures offered by Abundance are unlisted..
Going to have a closer look, they have an interesting concept - by buying into a renewable energy "debenture" you are potentially getting a return which tracks inflation....0 -
Always starts to ring alarm bells when posts about an unknown company appear with multiple new members starting to post and saying how great they are.
What use is an investment that supposedly tracks inflation but you can't get your money back? It is probably genuine but the risk is certainly higher than just putting money in the bank or into a share ISA fund as it is not easily accessible and paid back over 20 years.
Even the article quotes on their website has a very sensible warning
But be warned - those who invest directly in renewables through such funds may not always be able to sell their stake quickly. An exit can depend on there being a willing buyerRemember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0 -
Pretty low return given the high risk and extremely low liquidity.
Why don't we all move along?I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.
