How did he get the PIN for the card ?

From the banks POV you knew what was going on.

I think all this happened pre pinsentry, which is why the OP is not answering this question.

were was the money paid and who used it. if you had no knowledge of the loan were you not a little surprised by the 16k arriving into your bank account. if it did not go into your account then go and speak to the police.

Doesn't the loan show up on online banking?

And I'm wondering how the loan was paid. Was it paid directly in to the husband's bank account?

Although I was aware that he was taking the loan out I was unaware that he had got it in my name alone and now he has stopped paying the monthly payments and I can't afford to pay for it.

I don't see how it's the bank's fault that you didn't ask to see the paperwork. Tough situation to be in though

I sympathise and it's a crappy situation to be in. But to be blunt, you're not going to get anywhere with this.

    1) Key to this - you'll never be able to prove he was the one that was online doing the app.
    2) As has been stated, T&Cs put the onus on you to protect any login or PIN info.

Barclays did send letters out on setup, also they dont ask for income on pre-approved loans
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

Never give or display your bank details to anyone, even to family, husband, wife etc.

You never know whats going on behind your back. Even a loved one can leave you in a pile of crap, once a relationship is over, what do they care, they can walk away and start again, its you that takes all the rap.

Ive seen this happen to so many people, even after years together.
  • The only chance you have is to go to the police and report your husband for fraud.
