hi.. just back from holiday in America where I was impressed with pine straw used as a mulch - as it seems to bind together better on slopes unlike bark chippings which end up at the botton of the bank. I've done plenty of googling but haven't yet found a uk supplier.. does anyone know where I could buy this stuff here - especially in essex? best regards and thanks timswf

It might be worth calling your local council as ours shred pine and leave it behind our local allotments for the taking. They may do something similar and may be able to tell you where they leave the piles. Only our allotment holders get it here but that is because we know it is there!
